Another round of great FREE music is coming to Russell Crossroads for Memorial Day Weekend!
We will kick off RXR Fest Friday night with music from Lake Martin’s favorite cover band, The Bank Walkers! These guys have added a number of new songs to their playlist, but have kept a lot of the crowd favorites too!! Join The Bank Walkers as they kick off this year’s RXR fest Friday, at 6:30.
Taking the stage at at 8, is Mississippi Hall of Famer, Webb Wilder! Webb Wilder was ‘Americana’ before it had a name, and is bonafide Roots Rock Royalty. He’s made albums ranging from the very roots of Rock and Roll to some of its “crunchier” Classic Rock cousins – Outlaw Country, straight-up Blues, bits of Brit Rock, Rockabilly, Southern Rock and all points in between. Hillbilly Speedball is the 13th album in his long and storied career.
Webb Wilder brings us Americana Rock and Roll in the purest sense, and his live shows and albums are a joyride worth taking again and again.
Not to be outdone by Friday, Saturday will bring us more great music and kicking it off is none other than Friday On The Green favorite Russell Craig. For RXR Fest, Russell has pulled in his band and will start making his own kind of music on Saturday, at 6:30.
And winding out RXR Fest this year is Connor Kelly and The Time Warp! Connor is dedicated to pushing sonic boundaries while preserving elements of Rock & Roll. Drawing inspiration from icons like Pink Floyd, Radiohead, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the group cultivates a sound that pays tasteful homage to legends of the genre but not without their own unusual twist. Since their latest album release “Distant Forest” the band has accumulated over 5 million streams and joined among others, Moon Taxi on the road. Connor Kelly, Ben Kelly, Aiden Lamb, and Daniel Ryan are liable to, in a good way, disrupt the space-time continuum.
Great music and lots of fun!
Bring the fam and your comfy stuff and join us for a couple of nights of great FREE music.

Jilla is an extraordinary writer, performer, artist, and educator. An original talent, her expressive singing technique, and versatility perfectly complement a variety of styles. And, as a Professor of Practice in the Commercial Music Department at Auburn University, she is passing on her expert knowledge to the next generation of commercial music artists. What they are doing there, with the help of Jilla, is phenomenal!
An active performer and recording artist, Jilla stays busy, outside of the classroom, writing and recording her own music. You can also find music featuring her mom’s Harry James Orchestra arrangements on iTunes, and her albums, “Balance” and “Timeless” on her website.
“I’m looking forward to more recording, touring and teaching. Let’s keep music alive and pass it on to the next generation of extraordinary artists!” ~ Jilla Webb

July 10, 2025 – Zazu's Verandah is please to present George Maddox, of The Appalachia Sound, performing inside the air-conditioned Listening Room, at Zazu's Verandah located on the Dadeville Square! You don’t want to miss getting to hear George live in a Listening Room environment! We’re fortunate to get to hear George at Zazu’s Verandah because most of his performances are in Tallahassee, FL and its surrounding area.
Following in the same vein as Ronnie Van Zant and Sturgill Simpson, George is steering his brand of red dirt – honest story telling through the brackish water that is country music. His album “Gritwater” is a down to earth collection of songs written from the heart and his passion can be heard through his singing and lyrics with just the right amount of Kris Kristofferson seriousness and a touch of southern rock swagger. Described by his friends as “country music with integrity,” His lyrics have depth and meaning. In his song “Cost,” he tackles the issue of drugs in our nation, or on the song “Water Wars” where in his own words, “is about trying to save The Apalachicola Bay from corruption and greed.”
Please be certain to generously tip and thank George for GIVING to our great little town.

With soaring melodies in his songwriting and harmonica playing alike, Wyatt Edmondson demands listeners’ attention with his expertly-crafted songs and high-energy stage presence. The Montgomery, Alabama-native moved to Nashville in 2017 after studying music at Troy University and has shown no signs of slowing down. Early on, Edmondson gravitated toward guitar players like Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page and Dave Matthews, but one artist in particular sparked him onto another path.
Edmondson commented on the inspiration he draws from Bob Marley saying, “I don’t think I ever knew there were lyrics in songs before Bob Marley, since I was only listening for the guitars!” he says with a laugh. “Listening to Bob, I fell in love with the idea of songwriting, and it was only a week after I had gotten into his music that I started writing songs myself.” The singer/songwriter then discovered John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, and finally, Bruce Springsteen, who he now attributes as his greatest musical influence.
Family and friends – grab them and join us this week for Friday On The Green! Oh yeah, don’t forget the comfy stuff and your pup, on a leash!

It’s always fun to have artists return to Friday On The Green, this week Chasing Shadows returns!! ?
Founding members, Brandon and Jayla Prince, have been performing together since 2014, playing at festivals, private parties, and restaurants around central Alabama. The husband-wife duo are known for their tight harmonies, accompanied by acoustic guitars and laid-back blues riffs.
Brandon Prince is a graduate of Berklee College of Music. He owns and operates his own studio and music store, Prince Music, in Childersburg, AL. Jayla Prince is currently attending Birmingham School of Law. She began singing at age 4, adding guitar and piano by age 10. Jayla splits her time between work and school, and continues to pursue a musical career on weekends.
They have a great sound and a cool vibe as they cover some great rock and roll tunes! Come join us and welcome Chasing Shadows to the Green Stage.
